About Our Programs

Our Programs Leverage Partnerships for Maximum Impact

The Santa Clara Schools Foundation (SCSF) leverages partnerships with other organizations interested in supporting public education to maximize investments in classrooms, school-wide shared spaces, multi-school collaborations, district-wide initiatives, college and trade school scholarships, and donations to under-resourced families.

By focusing on these diverse areas of support, SCSF plays a crucial role in bridging the opportunity gap, ensuring that all students within the Santa Clara Unified School District have access to enriching educational experiences and resources, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

Impacting Classrooms:

We support projects like hands-on learning materials at Cabrillo Middle School and the Pro Panels Versatile Display System for artists at Wilcox, led by Ms. Heather Morton. To donate to a current project, please go to our DonorsChoose.

Impacting School-wide Shared Spaces:

Impacting Multi-School Collaborations:

We provide materials, venue rentals, and transportation for events like the SCUSD Special Olympics and support after school programs run by high school students for district-managed after school activities.

Impacting District-wide Initiatives:

We fund initiatives that are not fully covered by public funding, such as:
Environmental Science and Sustainability: Funding field trips to SCUSD’s Farm and Bryan Osborn Nature Area, revitalizing school gardens, and supporting the student-run farm stand.
Student Service Learning Summer Internships: Providing opportunities for students to apply their learning in ways that benefit the district community.

Impacting School-wide Shared Spaces:

We offer scholarships to help students pursue higher education. Last year, SCSF awarded 13 scholarships to SCUSD’s graduating seniors in the 2023-2024 school year.

Supporting Under-Resourced Families:

We provide donations and resources to families in need, ensuring they can access a fully stocked clothing closet and food pantry, bus passes, school supplies, athletic shoes, and extra support during the holiday season.

Citizenship Award Nomination

To support and recognize extraordinary students, a teacher, administrator, or parent group officer can nominate a student for a citizenship award. Up to two $500 awards may be given to each SCUSD high school to recognize students who have shown excellent leadership, involvement, or other commendable characteristics while in school. Nominations must be submitted by March 31st of each year. All decisions are at the complete discretion of the SCSF Scholarship Committee. Recipients will be notified of decisions by June of each year.

High School Fellowship Service Learning Project

The Santa Clara Schools Foundation (SCSF) Fellowship Service Learning Award Program aims to recognize and support students who contribute meaningful service to SCSF and Mission City Federal Credit Union while developing professional skills and enhancing their college applications.
